CONTENTS AND COVERAGE
Theses, uncluding those not printed, are recorded following the chronological order they are received by the Library. Therefore, the BNI bibliographic year coincides with the accession year.

PERIODICITY
One-year issue

STANDARD AND CATALOGUING TOOLS
The bibliographic records are  compiled by Regole italiane di catalogazione (REICAT), in Unimarc format.

RECORD STRUCTURE AND ARRANGEMENT
Bibliographic descriptions are structured following the schema provided by International standard bibliographic  description (ISBD): they are completed with a main heading and tracing in which there are the other headings, numbered with Arabic numerals, including the name of the Universities interested.

The bibliographic records are arranged by the Dewey Decimal Classification system (15th abriged edition). Below each heading, the bibliographic records are organized by alphabetical order progeressively numbered (placed on the bottom left-hand corner). Each bibliografic record has the DDC notation with a ministerial code about the examination matter.

INDEXES
Each BNI issue has four indexes: an alphabetical index of authors (persons and institutions), of titles, an alphabetical subject index and of examinations matters. This classified index is expressed by the name of examination matters, gathered from the Official gazette. The table for the marks regarding  the matter, ordered by code with each caption, completes the issue. The entries refer to the record numbers.
